We are taking steps to empower underserved ethnicity through their cancer journey
We recognized that existing support systems, while valuable, sometimes lacked the specific cultural understanding and tailored resources needed by people of colour.
we understand the challenges, fears, and unique barriers faced by ethnic minority women when dealing with breast cancer.
We are a charity organisation based in the United Kingdom, offering compassionate support to women of colour diagnosed with or surviving breast cancer. A breast cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming, and navigating the healthcare system can be especially challenging for women of colour. Pink Smile is here to bridge the gap, offering culturally sensitive support, information, and a strong community to empower women throughout their breast cancer journey.
We envisioned a space where shared experiences could foster strength, where culturally relevant information could empower informed decisions, and where the vibrant spirit of our community could be a source of healing and hope.
We aren’t just an organization, we are a movement born from a place of deep understanding and unwavering commitment. Our story began with a shared realization: women of colour navigating the complexities of breast cancer in the UK often face a unique set of hurdles. Beyond the medical challenges, there can be cultural stigmas, feelings of isolation, and systemic inequities that make the journey even more difficult.
Our work is deeply rooted in compassion, community, and empowerment, ensuring that no woman feels alone or unsupported.
We are on a mission to assist in the treatment and care of persons suffering and recovering from breast cancer in need of rehabilitation as a result of such illness, in particular but not limited to those from black and ethnic minority backgrounds. We hope to achieve our mission by promoting and protecting the health and wellbeing of sufferers of breast cancer through the provision of financial assistance, support, education and practical advice. We also hope to advance the education of the general public in all areas relating to breast cancer.

Flo's story
I recognize the journey, you shouldn't be alone
Pink Smile was born from a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by women of colour navigating breast cancer. Flo, a breast cancer survivor, witnessed firsthand the need for a safe and supportive community. She saw the gaps in existing services and the urgent need for culturally relevant support tailored to the specific needs of women of colour in the UK.
