A community of strength, support, and hope for women of colour facing breast cancer
Join the pink roomWe are creating a safe space for women of colour to find healing and thrive again.
The Pink Room creates an opportunity where women of colour can build affirming relationships, connect and share their learnings and experiences to inform, inspire and encourage themselves to take early action.
We aim to drive deep interpersonal connections and foster a robust support network for women of colour seeking emotional, mental, and physical wellness.
The Pink Room is targeted at providing support to women who have been diagnosed with or are survivors of breast cancer, their families, carers, and communities. As a team with lived experience, we have a profound understanding of the unique challenges faced by women of colour navigating the complexities of breast cancer. Too often, they find themselves isolated, grappling with shame and rejection and unsure of where to turn for guidance, information, solace, and community.
Myths, taboos, and stigma surrounding cancer in the BAME community deter women from seeking support, regular checkups and treatment. Consequently, this leads to late-stage breast cancer diagnoses and a 40% higher death rate in the BAME community.
40% of black women stand the risk of not surviving cancer, part of which has been attributed to lack of awareness, poor community and family support from diagnosis to end of treatment, and so forth.
The Pink Room is a direct response to these disparities, providing a safe and empowering space for up to 400 women over the next nine months.

We are on a mission to assist in the treatment and care of persons suffering and recovering from breast cancer in need of rehabilitation as a result of such illness, in particular but not limited to those from black and ethnic minority backgrounds. We hope to achieve our mission by promoting and protecting the health and wellbeing of sufferers of breast cancer through the provision of financial assistance, support, education and practical advice. We also hope to advance the education of the general public in all areas relating to breast cancer.
